About
Catherine trained as a gilder at the long established Rowley Gallery, bespoke framers in London, where she worked for several years.
Along with her studies of ceramics and printmaking, she has developed a modern approach to a very traditional method.
Her work reflects the beauty of the raw materials she uses, and the simple designs accentuate the techniques of ancient skills in a
contemporary form. Her depth of imagination and modern ideas provide her with scope and flexibility for a wide range of hand-finishes
and individual pieces.
Following her move to the country, she set up her own workshop and continues to create and restore hand-finished modern and antique
frames in a freelance capacity.
Catherine has shown her work in galleries in Scotland, Suffolk and Kent. She has also undertaken a diverse range of private commissions for individual clients, including work for Interior Design and Bespoke Furniture Restoration.
